Kilkenny's first Rock Climbing Festival
Demonstrations and a chance for the amateur to give climbing or absaling down the cliff face ago with the aid of an experienced climber open to all age groups.
Introducing Kilkenny's first ever Rock Climbing Festival In association with Tyndall Mountaineering Club and Mid Tipp Hillwalkers on September 9th -11th.
Join with rock climbers from home and abroad on the cliff face: try rock climbing for the first time with experienced tutors or just sit back and enjoy this challenging sport. Listen to the experiences of the first Irishman to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
Floodlit Friday 9th of September
(8.00 pm – 10.00pm)
The weekend opens with ‘Floodlit Friday’ – Climbing by Floodlight- spectators welcome
Saturday - Over 100 routes to the top, varying in difficulty from ‘Diff’ to ‘E3’
South East Mountain Rescue demonstration.
Saturday 10th of September
FREE ‘Come and give it a go’ with expert tuition [2.00pm to 5.00pm]
Barbecue 7.00pm
Dawson Stelfox MBE. Illustrated presentation by the first Irishman to reach the summit of Mount Everest [8.00pm]

Climbing until it’s time to go home
